Dangers of Sleep Deprived Children

Channel 2 News has investigated the dangers of sleep. Lack of sleep in a children's early years can lead to severe depression in later years of their life. Their study concluded that 1 in 4 children who don't get the recommended 9 hours of sleep a night suffer depression. Horribly 1 in 5 children transition from depression to a more ailment of suicidal thoughts. Moodiness is one of the side effects of a child that is sleep deprived and often prescribed anti-depression medicine such as Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Celexa, Lexapro and Luvox. In some of these cases, the medicine provided could have been avoided if only the child was diagnosed with sleep deficiency.
